When I first got my M&Pc 9mm I field stripped it a lubed as indicated in the manual. Trigger was excellent at the range, and I put about 300 rounds through it.

I decided to give it a more thorough cleaning, this time using Gunscrubber (synthetic-safe formula) and sprayed all the internals down, and also cleaned remaining residue with Hoppes #9. I then lubed EVERYTHING. I'm talking trigger pivot points, the trigger bar where it goes next to the frame on its way back to the sear assembly . . . basically all moving parts.

Lube was Hoppes Lubrication Oil.

When I dry-fired after assembly, the trigger felt noticeably less smooth. So unsmooth that it almost felt as though the trigger was hanging up on something right at the break point.

So what's the deal? Did I over-lube (is that possible)?

you need a better quality lube. breakfree CLP is what I use. you might want a little blue wonder on the trigger "contact" points. polish the parts with 1000 grit paper and see the difference, if not the whole trigger job.
