Just a quick update....
After months of carry and hundreds of rounds fired, here is what the magazine catch now looks like:
S+W replaced the original catch with this one a while back. The original started dropping mags
and was obviously worn, having less than .030" engagement with the magazines.
Discussed here: http://carteach0.blogspot.com/2007/08/got-...om-factory.html

As of today, no noticeable wear and all seems well. I have not had any magazine drop issues at all since the catch was replaced.
Also of note..... the pistol is otherwise functioning flawlessly. No feed issues, accuracy is extraordinary with it's favorite loads, it's easy to shoot well, and it carries like a breeze.
While I was at first wary of the no-external-safety- design, I now have confidence in it. It took a bit of retraining on my part and better trigger discipline, but all is well. I woudl just as soon carry the 9c as my trusty old Colt Commander.
Looking forward to two things....
A decent laser to fit the 9c, and a M+P 45c (I will try to buy the first one I ever see.....)
