NBC has an article on how "Evil" guns are in America. And that the rest of Europe is doing just fine without any sort of guns.

I'm a person that believes the bad guy is always going to get what he wants how he wants. If it's not using a weapon, but by an explosive, etc.

I think the right to own a gun is essential, to defend your life is your right.

I myself imigrated from South America six years ago and know how it feels to be unarmed in bad neighborhoods, thiefs and corrupt cops are only armed...

Also, the article failed to mention on how about "The Police Federation research reveals 7,000 officers have been threatened with a gun and 40,000 a knife, in the last two years."

And I've read before on how 60% roughly of teenagers carry knifes in the UK.

Maybe they can ban all sharp objects, rocks too, cars since they are the #1 source of fatalities!

Oh wait, cars! Nahhh, its not the car, but the person behind the wheel responsable!

PS: What cracked me up the most was this comment:

Gun crime is extremely rare in Britain, and handguns are completely illegal. The ban is so strictly enforced that Britain’s Olympic pistol shooting team is barred from practicing in its own country.

The problem with todays society is the liberals that can't place responsibility where it belongs. And the sad thing is that the disease has really spread. They want to blame anything and everything but the person who is guilty. They won't allow people to assume the responsibility for their own actions and it makes me sick. It wasn't the persons fault they killed so and so it was because they were molested as a child. The video games and movies they watch gave them a false sense of reality. The bartender at the bar let them drink to much. The kids at school picked on them. These are just a few examples of what I'm talking about I could go on all day and it's not just about killing people it's about everything in today's society it seems like. Take a look at all of the lawsuits against the tobacco companies. You guys know what I'm talking about. It just makes me sick. People need to take responsibility for their own actions plain and simple. Stop blaming everything else for your mistakes. I'm just really pissed off right now and if this offends anyone you know where you can stick it.

Fact: Since gun banning has escalated in the UK, the rate of crime – especially violent crime – has

risen.

Fact: Street robberies soared 28% in 2001. Violent crime was up 11%, murders up 4%, and rapes are up 14%.

Fact: Comparing crime rates between America and Britain is flawed. In America, a gun crime is recorded as a gun crime. In Britain, a crime is only recorded when there is a final disposition (a

conviction). All unsolved gun crimes in Britain are not reported as gun crimes, grossly undercounting the amount of gun crime there. To make matters worse, British law enforcement has been exposed for falsifying criminal reports to create falsely lower crime figures, in part to preserve tourism.

Fact: A continuing parliamentary inquiry into the growing number of black market weapons has concluded that there are more than three million illegally held firearms in circulation - double the number believed to have been held 10 years ago - and that criminals are more willing than ever to use them. One in three criminals under the age of 25 possesses or has access to a firearm.

Fact: Handgun homicides in England and Wales reached an all-time high in 2000, years after a virtual ban on private handgun ownership. More than 3,000 crimes involving handguns were recorded in 1999-2000, including the 42 homicides, 310 cases of attempted murder, 2,561 robberies and 204 burglaries.

Fact: Handguns were used in 3,685 offences in 2000 compared with 2,648 in 1997, an

increase of 40%. It is interesting to note:

• Of the 20 areas with the lowest number of legal firearms, 10 had an above average level of "gun crime."

• Of the 20 areas with the *highest* levels of legal guns, only 2 had armed crime levels above the average.

Fact: Between 1997 and 1999, there were 429 murders in London, the highest two year figure for more than 10 years – nearly two-thirds of those involved firearms – in a country that has banned private firearm ownership.

Fact: Over the last century, the British crime rate was largely unchanged. In the late nineteenth century, the per capita homicide rate in Britain was between 1.0 and 1.5 per 100,000. In the late twentieth century, after a near ban on gun ownership, the homicide rate is around 1.4. This shows that the homicide rate does not vary with either the level of gun control or gun availability.

Fact: The U.K. has strict gun control and a rising homicide rate of 1.4 per 100,000.

Switzerland that has the highest per capita firearm ownership rate on the planet (all

males age 20 to 42 are required to keep rifles or pistols at home) has a homicide rate of

1.2 per 100,000. And to date, there has never been a schoolyard massacre in

Switzerland.

Fact: "The scale of gun crime in the capital [London] has forced senior officers to set up a specialist unit to deal with . . . shootings.

Very good info..

Switzerland is a Country not even Hitler dared to touch in WWII because of how many snipers they would have had behind every rock and past every hill. I've read their manual they used to pass out, or maybe they still do called "Total Defense" i believe (read it years ago), it teaches their own population to fight the invador to the death! Setting up traps, cutting phone lines, bombs, derailing trains, etc... I was impressed when I read it.

They will just ignore it, they are more interested in liberal propaganda than the truth.
