I had read some interesting and positive reviews about the Speer Gold-Dots as defensive loads, and I am kinda leaning towards carrying them myself. However, I searched and searched and I can't find any charts or data comparing the various types of 9mm Speer ammo available.



What i'm interested in is the following information:

Velocities

Penetration

Expansion

and

Pressures of the following rounds:



124gr Speer Gold Dot



124gr Speer Gold Dot +p



147gr Speer Gold Dot



Basically i'm interested in getting ahold of some relevent information so I can make a better informed decision. What advantage does the heavier bullet afford?

I've carried the 124gr Speer Gold Dot +p load for years and Stephen Camp has published some of the best ammunition comparison data around. It specifically lists velocities, penetration and expansion for most popular defensive loads.
