First thread on a brand new board, WOOT!

Just wanted to see if anyone among the membership has one of these handguns. It (P99) is currently my favorite handgun in .40S&W. At least until I get my M&P anyway.

Some Nice Guns Out There!

The Walther P99 or the SW99 ( almost the same gun ) were my next choices behind the MP40. Still working on buying the MP. Soon, very soon.

My wife has a Baby Desert Eagle 9mm that shoots great but I don't like the way the safeties stick out to snag on clothing. Great service or range gun but not for CCW. The 4lb trigger pull is really nice though.

My "to buy list" is very long.

Yep, I'd love a few more things. I vowed to myself that I'll never buy a firearm that I don't have a need for..

I believe that the next pistol I get will be the P22...I love my dads and want one to get the wife into shooting, plus I can use birdshot in it to get rid of those pesky chipmunks that are haining around my house.

I have been reading and reading and reading. I want a great reliable carry gun that can stop the BG and save my life. The PPK/S is a great looking gun but isnt for me. I ll give it to my wife since she thinks its cute and easy to handle and has that safety.

Anyway,, I am decided on my carry weapon:

Glock model 30 (10 shot + 1) .45 acp

I want the M&P's - 9 mm and 45 cal,, but for my personal carry gun it will be the G30.

Anyone have one? I have never heard a negative about it,, of course I read GT all the time and they just may be a "little" biased,, LOL

I carry the compact P-99 in 40 cal. It is 8+1 but my full size P-99 mags work in the compact, so I have some 12 rounders at my disposal as well. In the winter I will carry the M&P. Printing won't be an issue then.

I'm not a large person and I've carried everything from a snubbie to a 5" XD, I just have to dress for the weapon. M&P is pretty easy to keep tucked in, its got smooth lines.

Jester: There is a great article in the new June/July issue of Handguns Magazine about the Walther P22. Both the 3.4 inch & the 5 inch target model. They have pictures with a bridge mount red dot sight on the target model & Walther laser light on the standard 3.4 inch.

I happened to be in Academy Sports today and they had a target model. That's a fine looking pistol! I'm not in the market for another 22 pistol (yet) but if I was that would be it.
