My wife and I are going to get our carry permits next year. I am thinking about a ctac holster. I wear western close so I not sure how to carry. I have herd that you may have to change the way you dress. I think of a iwb holster or maybe an owb holster. I have never herd anyone say htat they carry in a should holster. Why is this a bad idea?

thanks for the thoughs

It has its place, My father carrys only in a shoulder holster. If you get a cheap one the straps will rub you raw. I suggest a glaco jackass rig, its pricy but well worth it.

A shoulder rig is a specialized piece of gear. I wear one while in the woods - mainly to get the gun off my belt where I invariably bang my rifle into it and it will interfere with a pack's hip belt. Nothing wrong with a shoulder holster, but there are reasons why pros mainly wear hip holsters.
