a friend of mine was asking me where the MP is made and i have no clue. anyone know if it is made out of the country then assembled in the US???? or is made in the us??? any one able to shed light on this?

S&W has 2 plants in the US and the M&P is all made in America. Except the Mags, they are made by Mec Gar in Italy.

ok he refered to the xd and where it was made... thats why he wanted to know where the mp was made.... Glad to hear that something as nice as the mp can come straight from america.

i understood what the gun says by question was if all of the parts were made in the us or not... some things bear the name made in the us and are really just assembled in the us... seems my question has been answered.



so thank you reaper I did look and was looking for clearification.

I believe the Springfield XD infers that it is also made in the USA...looks can be deceiving......

On the XD slide is printed "Springfield Armory U.S.A."

yep i agree but id you look on the other side is says croatia or made in croatia. at least on mine it does.

Thanks for that info. I have only seen photos of the XD, and all of them seem to show only the right side of the gun.

i may have been mistaken.... i just took a look at my gun and no mention of croatia.... but that is where they are made... so thats why i was aking about the mp.... lol i think we have beat this one into the ground. anyone have anything more to add?

In the display case at the local shop are two XD40s. On the right side at the top of the grip one is marked

"Springfield Inc. Geneso, Il"



The other is marked

"Springfield Inc. Geneso, Il

Made in Croatia"
