I was a die hard 1911 man, and then I met the M&P40. In the last three months I have put more than three thousand ronds through it without a hiccup. Functioned without incident even when some mud got into into it (not on purpose and most definately non-scientific). Needless to say, I now own a M&P9 and its little brother. I can't tell you how much I am anticipating the M&P45! Still love my 1911's, but I carry the M&Ps.
