Hey guys, I decided on a 9MM 2.0 with a 5" barrel for a range gun. I still want to be able to carry and am looking for a holster. I was considering the Blackhawk Serpa CQC 410525BK-R

. Anyone try the fit with a 5'' barrel? Any suggestions would be helpful, I don't want something the slide hangs out off, and I cant get the info anywhere else!



Will be carrying OWB. The compact is great for EDC, but I like options!

Pretty sure I had that exact Blackhawk holster. Not 100% sure though. Anyway, it was purchased for a m&p 1.0 40 I used to have. It was the 4 inch variety, I also had a 5 inch 2.0 and it fit it great but some of the barrel did stick out. Wasn’t a big deal, wasn’t crawling around in the mud or anything. I got a alien gear for the 2.0 5 inch. I think it’s a cloak slide owb It’s the one that comes with belt attachment and the paddle. I like it fine. On the outside of the holster there is complete coverage of the 5 inch barrel. On the inside, the side against your hip, some of the barrel is exposed. I have never had anything get into this spot of barrel exposure to cause any issues. This particular holster I carry owb concealed all the time in the colder months, my vest covers it nicely, can’t tell I’m packing. In summer months I don’t carry the 5 inch concealed. Go to a smaller pistol. Been very happy with my alien gear holsters. Have another one for my 1911 and probably will own more.

Great info thanks again. still not sure if I am getting a rail accessory but am leaning towards the Leather pancake type like I have for my compact. Does the open top hold the pistol tight? My compact has a strap at the top. I ride a lot when I carry so that's why I ask.

Here is a couple shots to show the 5"barrel in the Blackhawk holster. I went with this holster for now because I am not sure what I might put on the rail. It seems a good fit ,but the barrel is proud about 5/32 out of the holster. the site is not hanging out and is a smooth draw. Until I get some trigger time and see where I go with the accessories for this pistol this works for me. I picked it up on ebay new in package for 24.00.

 

Here is a better shot of the pistol jammed all the way in, the previous one was a little light!

 

Anyone have any updates to this holster selection? Man I've been stuck on the Blade Tech Signature OWB forever hate to change, but they don't work on the 5" and 4" 2.0 only do 4.25"

 

I’m looking at a new holster also for a M&P40 (2.0) 4” Compact. But I’m only looking at leather thumb breaks. It appears some of these manufacturers don’t list the new models yet.
